IBM iX Wins Two Red Dot Awards

Berlin, 26 August 2026 – IBM iX has won two Red Dot Awards for outstanding digital healthcare services: the BARMER Design System and the BARMER Apps have been honoured at the Red Dot Award Brands & Communication Design. Red Dot is one of the world’s most prestigious awards for communication and design and recognises the best projects, designers and agencies in communication design.

Together with BARMER, one of Germany’s largest health insurance providers, IBM iX has been developing intelligent digital solutions for several years, creating healthcare services that make everyday life easier for millions of insured members. With the introduction of BARMER’s new brand identity, IBM iX reimagined the digital design system Puls and the entire app portfolio.

The BARMER Design System received an award in the “Digital Solutions” category. It provides the foundation for a consistent brand experience across products and services, enabled a seamless transition to the new branding and supports the efficient evolution of digital offerings.

The BARMER Apps were recognised in the “Apps (Health)” category. Redesigned as part of the rebranding, they simplify complex processes through intuitive digital experiences and provide millions of members with easy access to essential healthcare services.

These awards reflect what IBM iX stands for: outstanding experience design, strong design system expertise and the development of digital solutions that set new benchmarks, even in complex industries such as healthcare.
