Strichpunkt and IBM iX are developing a digital design system with Berlin public transport company BVG

The collaboration between the BVG and the two agencies will create an improved user experience that encompasses all of the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe’s digital touchpoints.

Berlin, 6. Dezember 2023. For the implementation of a new digital design system, the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) is putting its trust in the combined expertise of the design and branding agency Strichpunkt and IBM iX, the experience design and customer transformation partner within IBM Consulting. This collaboration will rework the visual design and experience of all digital touchpoints, creating an optimised and coherent user experience. This gives the BVG an asset that enables it to implement new digital products more quickly at the frontend through standardisation.

The creative experts at Strichpunkt translated the BVG’s visual language into a digital format and provided guidelines, Figma libraries for components and the basis for design tokens. This has resulted in a harmonised and dynamic visual communication style, made available across all platforms. The IBM iX team contributed its expertise in the field of digital experience design and delivery, and advised BVG.de by tapping into its many years of experience in product design. It used agile methods to deliver the architecture of the design system and develop robust React components.
