Berlin, den 30.08.2022 – In addition to the recently won German Digital Award (DDA) and the nomination for the UX Design Award, IBM iX has now won the internationally renowned Red Dot Design Award which has honoured the mobile apps and design system in the Brands & Communication Design discipline.
The Red Dot Design Award is one of the largest design competitions worldwide and the Red Dot Label has established itself internationally as one of the most coveted seals of quality for design excellence. In order to be able to expertly evaluate the diversity in this field, the award is divided into three disciplines. Each of these competitions is held once a year. Participants can enter products, brands and communication projects as well as prototypes and design concepts. For each award, a jury meets to individually review the submissions and then decide on the awards.
IBM iX redeveloped BARMER’s main apps based on a digital design system – with a new design language, precise iconography as well as beautiful and helpful illustrations. Design and frontend code components are now available in central libraries.
In the new eCare app, insured persons can store their therapy documents securely and share them individually with doctors. A medication planner provides reminders and dosage information. All health passports are available online.
In the also redeveloped BARMER app, tasks can be completed quickly online and the processing status can be followed conveniently. The new mailbox enables faster and more secure communication. And it’s never been easier to collect bonus points and rewards. With their new apps, BARMER is already making health management easier for more than 2 million of their customers.
“It is a great pleasure that the jury honours our work. The BARMER apps and design system have already received a number of awards, but the Red Dot is yet another special seal of quality in terms of design, which makes us very proud.”
