IBM iX acquires plant expert COMPO as a new client

COMPO, a leading supplier of branded home and garden products, relies on IBM iX as its technical partner. In the future, IBM iX will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of the COMPO online platform in over twenty languages.

Berlin, 18th of August 2022 – Whether it’s potting soil, fertilisers, lawn care, plant protection, or pest control: COMPO always has the right solution for plant lovers. Now, the quality provider of branded home and garden products has entrusted IBM iX with the technical support of its websites in numerous countries.

A user-centric online shop

On the COMPO website, you can find everything your gardener’s heart desires — from potting soil, lawn seed, and fertiliser to plant care and plant protection products. End consumers can also find numerous tips, tricks, and advice on gardening, pest control, and even recipes from nature. Various helpful tools are available, such as a calculator for raised beds or a search for nearby dealers of COMPO products. Among other things, dealers themselves have access to a useful dealer portal with sales support information.

A long-term technical partnership

COMPO, headquartered in Munster, Germany, operates its website using the Magnolia content management system. Magnolia allows content and media of all kinds to be managed in one place, and a personalized experience can be designed across multiple channels. The COMPO website is available in more than twenty languages. In addition to German, English, and French, it is also available in Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. IBM iX is now responsible for the operation, maintenance, and further development of the individual country websites. The continuous technical development of the individual pages is intended to increase website traffic, user numbers, and conversion rates.
