Client Director - Fashion Retail (f/m/x)

As Client Director – Fashion Retail (f/m/x), you will actively shape the future of our clients: You will manage long-term partnerships, identify new business opportunities, and play a key role in driving innovative solutions for the retail and consumer goods industry. We are looking for you to join our team full-time at our locations in Berlin, Vienna, or Düsseldorf as soon as possible.
Developing unique customer experiences: In the Consumer Cluster, we work on inspiring projects for the retail and consumer goods industries. This involves consulting, designing, and developing holistic, cross-channel shopping experiences, hyper-personalized offers, and 360° customer understanding—all with the support of AI solutions and approaches.
We are setting new standards for the digitalization of the industry. We advise and support our customers in transforming their services, processes, and sales channels in a sustainable, innovative manner based on the latest standards and adapting them to the growing demands of users. The focus is always on an appealing and intuitive customer journey.

Your tasks

  • As Client Director – Fashion Retail (m/f/x), you will be responsible for a defined set of existing clients and will pursue the primary goal of strategically developing this set and successfully handling our daily project business
  • You are the first and most important point of contact for our customers when it comes to project-related and cross-customer activities and processes – both for the customer and internally at our company
  • You regularly visit your customers on site, establish new, relevant contacts, and position IBM iX as a strategic partner for our service offerings
  • You are largely responsible for our customer success, customer growth, and customer satisfaction, and you motivate your teams to work toward these goals
  • As an industry expert, you speak your customers’ language—you understand the workflows, processes, and industry-specific challenges of the customer journey along data-driven marketing, commerce, sales, and service at your customer
  • Together with your project team and other subject matter experts, you drive the strategic development of your customer – whether in network expansion, strategic account planning, or developing value propositions for the customer
  • You will be in regular contact with defined industry, software, and cloud partners to identify common areas of action and communicate these to your customers
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of our service portfolio, can identify problems and challenges at the customer’s site, and can link these to our service offerings
  • Together with our practice leads, expert leads, and SMEs, you will create quick-witted value propositions for our target customers in the form of presentations, offers, and tailor-made solutions
  • As part of the IBM network, you will enjoy drawing on IBM’s global network and working with international colleagues, teams, reference customers, and partners

Your skills

  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience in digital consulting or strategic development for target customers in the retail and consumer goods industry (target customer size > $0.75–1 billion)
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in account management, sales, and/or P&L responsibility for one or more customers
  • You have a university degree (preferably with a focus on digital media/marketing/IT)
  • You have solid experience in project management and comprehensive knowledge of project & account controlling (bookings, revenue, profit)
  • You have extensive industry expertise (solutions, technologies, processes, best practices, etc.) along digital touchpoints and can apply this knowledge in customer discussions
  • You position yourself as a trusted advisor and networker: whether at a customer workshop, a trade event, or dinner with your customer, you are always well informed, well prepared, and able to charmingly elevate conversations to a qualitative level
  • Your excellent communication and negotiation skills enable you to interact successfully with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • You have an intrinsic interest in retail and consumer brands and their development, and you are passionate about preparing these dynamic industries for the new AI era
  • You are fluent in German (C2) and have a good command of English (at least B2)
  • You are willing to travel approximately 40% of the time (2 days/week)
