Master Student Strategy Consultant (f/m/x)

Then start the IBM iX master’s program and work side by side with experienced strategy consultants on the key issues that large companies are facing. At IBM iX, you won’t just learn consulting from textbooks, but in real projects, with real clients and with a high level of responsibility.

As a Master’s Student Strategy Consultant – Enterprise Strategy (f/m/x), you will work closely with our Strategy Team starting September 1st, 2026. You will assist in the analysis, structuring and communication of strategic issues – and thus contribute to preparing well-founded decisions at the top management level. 
 
The role is designed for 24 hours per week (three days) and can be combined with a part-time master’s degree program. Locations: Preferably Berlin or Düsseldorf, alternatively anywhere in Germany. You are free to choose your university (within Germany). However, we work closely with partner universities such as CBS, SRH, TH Köln, FOM, AKAD, and ISM, which offer degree programs that are particularly well-suited to our program.

Your tasks

• You will actively participate in strategic analyses and client projects
• You structure and create presentation-ready executive documents for management and project teams
• You assist in the development of proposals, pitch decks and RFP responses
• You conduct market, competitor and industry analyses 
• You structure and consolidate information from various stakeholder perspectives
• You will work on ongoing strategy and transformation projects in various industries
• You will develop business cases, value driver trees and prioritization frameworks
• You will evaluate the business potential of new technologies (e.g. AI) for client organizations
• You will use tools such as Excel, Power BI, ServiceNow and methods from the IBM Garage Experience

Your skills

You are a perfect fit for this role if you have strong analytical skills, work in a structured manner and want to take on responsibility.

Ideally you have:

• A bachelor’s degree or imminent graduation in economics or social sciences (e.g. business administration, economics, management, strategy, consulting) 
• Plans to start a master’s degree in the coming winter semester  
• Initial experience in consulting or strategy (e.g .thru internships)
• Very strong analytical skills and a highly structured way of thinking
• Confident use of Excel (modeling, scenario analysis) and PowerPoint (management-level presentations)
• The ability to present complex content clearly, concisely and convincingly  
• Interest in digital transformation, AI and new technologies
• Initiative, motivation and high quality standards
• Fluent German (at least C1) and very good English skills (at least B2)
