New IBM iX location in Erfurt & talent search at academix job fair

IBM iX will soon be in Erfurt. From June, a new location will open in Erfurt's city centre, strengthening IBM iX's presence in central Germany. At the company contact fair "academix Thüringen" on May 19, IBM iX will appear for the first time as a new employer in the Thuringia region. The personnel development is also extensively accompanied and supported by the State Development Corporation of Thuringia (Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft Thüringen, LEG).

New IBM iX Studio in Erfurt city centre

In Germany, IBM iX is represented with locations in Berlin, Bonn, Düsseldorf, Ehningen, Hamburg, and Munich. Worldwide, there are more than 50 so-called IBM iX Studios. Now the network is to grow further. After an extensive location analysis, which took into account factors such as the application market, catchment area, transport connections, competitive situation, and university landscape, IBM iX has decided to establish a location in the Erfurt region, which also includes Jena, Weimar, and Ilmenau. On June 1, IBM iX will open its new office, which is located in the centre of Erfurt and within walking distance of the main railway station.

Exciting vacancies at the new location

At the moment, a small team is on site to take care of setting up the location. In the future, all employees in Erfurt will work closely with the teams at the other IBM iX studios and will be integrated into the overarching organisational structure. IBM iX is now looking for specialists in various fields. Priority will initially be given to the vacancies: Senior Architects, Senior Developer, Senior Project Lead, Senior Account Manager, and Senior Scrum Master.

Gilbert Dietrich, who is responsible for building up the human resources team, adds:

“From now on, all open IBM iX jobs in Berlin can also be filled with a work and life focus in the Erfurt region. This makes us more attractive as an employer and has the potential to greatly expand our talent pool.”

Talent search at the academix career fair

IBM iX is working in coordination with the LEG for successful team building on site. This will support the development of Thuringia into an attractive business, investment, and technology location.

With the company contact fair “academix Thüringen”, which took place on May 19 in a hybrid format (analogue and digital) in Erfurt’s COMCENTER Brühl, the ThAFF offered Thuringian companies an exclusive platform to introduce themselves to young academics. Alongside other renowned employers, IBM iX also presented itself with its own stand and informed interested parties about the company, its culture, and vacant positions in Erfurt.
